I had become a deadhead in the Fall of 1982. I was a Freshman at SUCO and had some friends a couple years older than I at college. I remember going to this show via I-88 and not knowing what to expect. Once I was inside the arena, I was fascinated with the crowd and was down the floor (GA). Some young woman throwing Aces around on the floor saying 'Ace' and the some guy (I'm assuming he was under the influence), planted a kiss on some young women's lips and several guys proceed to 'cold cock' him in the face as he would not go down. Way too violence. Don't know how that turned out, but what an incredible concert. The band came on the Alabama Getaway is incredible. The solo is blistering. The band was really pushing the envelope this night. They made some mistakes, but they were good mistakes. 82 Concerts in all from 1983-1995, I would argue that this was the best one even if I didn't know it at the time. I hope a video becomes available some day if there is one out there. The upstate NY concerts, pre-1987 were just incredible in those days and General Admission too.

This show really knocked my socks off. I listened to it on headphones and I'd say it's one of the best of 83'. Bobby's slide solo in Minglewood is about the raunchiest shit I've heard in my life. Garcia has this fuzz distortion on his leads that's fantastic. Strong vocals and aside from a few flubs, they were firing on all cylinders. Must've been great to see this live. Great recording as well. Thanks a lot!
